Introducing Rally: your social wallet for the new internet. Ex-Robinhood and Venmo leaders are bringing the social referral playbooks popularized by the fintechs to web3 and creating the product you want to use to onboard your closest friend to web3.

The Details

Rally is the evolution of Floor and built by a team that has been actively growing a world-class mobile experience for over 100,000 users since its inception in 2021. The company has steadily expanded its product offerings to become a mobile wallet that empowers users to explore, discover, and engage with the world of tokens, art, and memes.

It’s become a meme that the space wants to onboard “the next 1 million people” — instead, let’s talk about what it takes to onboard our closest friends (and for them to bring along their closest friend).

Today’s news focuses on three major features being released September 19 onstage at Breakpoint,  Solana’s biggest conference of the year:

  1. A referral program to onboard your friends with their first token: Everyone talks about onboarding the next billion people, but the space hasn’t solved a simple and easy way to get started in web3 for the first time — we think social onboarding is the key*.* For example, the Robinhood stock referral program accounted for 80% of the platform’s growth, with 50% of those new users having never used a brokerage before (source). The program includes some of the most culturally relevant memes, including BONK, WIF, POPCAT and more.
  2. A socially-oriented wallet: Rally transforms the traditional web3 wallet by putting social discovery at its core. Users can explore and discover new tokens, art, and memes based on the activities of their friends and join them instantly. Wallets today are seen as a tool: a way to sign transactions and custody assets. With Rally, they are the connective tissue that will help you find your next favorite thing on the new internet.
  3. Cross-chain, as always: Rally allows users to explore and act across chains, making it easier than ever to get started in the space where your friends are already congregating. We’ve focused on adding Solana support in the past months because this is where we see an influx of token culture, and have built first-in-class features like gas sponsorship to simplify the onboarding process.

All of this on top of our core wallet functionality — swaps, self-custody, sending to a friend, onboarding from Coinbase, Robinhood. With the addition of being able to fund directly from a debit card, credit card or Apple Pay using MoonPay, Rally takes away the complexity of simply getting started in web3, bundled in a re-brand and re-launch that embodies upward momentum (market rally), coming together (rallying around), being nonconformist (rallying against) and disruptive (rallying in the 9th): Rally.

Rally Team

Rally is led by industry veterans who have previously driven major innovations in fintech and social payments:

Christine Hall: Christine served as the COO of the Crypto Business at Robinhood and was an advocate for why memecoins can help onboard users into crypto. During her 5-year tenure, she saw millions of users get started with stock and crypto trading, largely through a peer-based referral program.

Chris Maddern: Chris led mobile at Venmo, the first platform that truly made money fun and social. His expertise in creating engaging and social, mobile financial products is a key driver behind Rally's focus on social discovery.

Together with the team, Christine and Chris bring a wealth of experience and a shared vision of making web3 more accessible, social, and mobile-first.
